today i begin my twelfth week of pregnancy. in one week i will already be in the second trimester. here's something really exciting though: i can feel my uterus below my belly button! i just felt it this morning. i thought i could feel it before but it was just my rock hard abs (hahaha), and where i was pressing was too high... well now i KNOW i can feel it because it's hard in the place that it's supposed to be hard, and i'm really excited because this is finally a concrete something that i can feel and actually feel like i'm pregnant! oh, i know there will be plenty of stuff like this to come, but this is the first and it's exciting. weeeee!!!!
in other news, we leave for our "babymoon" tomorrow! when we get back i will write about how it went and hopefully be able to post some pictures. i am a little nervous because this weekend i started getting some bad headaches (like on saturday i was out of bed for maybe 5 hours total), and i'm just praying and hoping that i won't feel that bad while we are supposed to be having fun in san francisco. i really hate staying in bed all day. however i am sooo incredibly thankful for matt, who takes wonderful care of me and whom i love a lot.
(ok i have to confess that two grammar subjects that have always baffled me, regardless of my outstanding grammatical education at the catholic school for 10 years, are who vs whom and lie/lay/laid/lain. i just went to this website titled "grammar girl: quick and dirty tips" [which is a hilarious if you ask me] to figure out if i should write who or whom in that last sentence, and so i cheated.) (and on the note of useful internet resources, in case you ever need to write a bibliography, please check out http://www.bibme.org/. are you kidding me? why did they not have this website in high school and college?? do you know how much time it would have saved?!?! you can even choose which format you want your bibliography to be in; apa, mla, etc.) (ok i'm done with exciting grammar tips. haha!)
i don't think i ever wrote on here our boy name. it's jonah matthew. obviously matthew is because of matt, but we like jonah a lot. and it's a biblical name: most of you know him as jonah who was swallowed by a whale, but i read that story recently. that's like the smallest part of the story. it may be the most exciting, but the whale is definitely not the point. you should go read it. here, you can go to this website: Jonah in ESV. it's only 4 chapters. you can do it at lunch.
finally, i would just like to say that this friday night we saw the movie, date night, with tina fey and steve carell. it was so funny! and speaking of tina fey, matt's friend/manager/cfa study buddy and his wife gave us a baby gift this weekend. it is a sesame street dvd featuring the hilarious tina fey and it's called, elmo and the bookaneers. tina fey is dressed like a pirate on the front and she is playing a pirate's flute. i'm really excited about it because matt and i both love to read, which is a passion we hope our kid will adopt, and tina fey is, as i've said before, hilarious! yay!
