summer

well, it's officially summer as of this past tuesday... although you would think that weeks and weeks of 100 degree weather before that would have been officially summer here in texas. we've been keeping cool, though, and are very thankful for working air conditioners in our apartment and in our cars.

fathers day weekend was nice and busy. saturday matt's parents and sister came over for a nice lunch and they got to play with jonah for a while. then sunday was just a whirlwind because we had so much to do. but matt said it was a nice day for him, and that was really all i was going for.

it's been a pretty low key week, which is always nice, especially since matt has been working like crazy to wrap up projects at work before he starts his new job in july. i'm especially excited about next weekend, because he'll get a 4 day weekend for the fourth of july. and by the way, the fourth of july is absolutely my favorite holiday! i love the fireworks and i love america. this year jonah is here, and his bedtime is 7 or 8, so i'm not sure if we'll get to see fireworks unless we get a babysitter... but actually now that i think about it, some of the best fireworks are the weekend before so we may have to enlist a grandparent or two to come hang out with jonah while we go on a little excursion. :) when i was in high school i started the tradition with my friend amanda that we would go to the store and get a small thing of ice cream and a plastic spoon and sit in the bed of her truck or on the hood and watch the fireworks eating our ice cream. last year we went to kaboom town in addison with some friends, which was delightful since two of us were pregnant...

last night jonah waved bye-bye to me!! i almost cried haha. i've been trying to get him to do it and i was so excited that i jumped up and down. matt missed it because he was looking for his shoes. :/.

so you know i'm doing weight watchers, and since i'm eating healthier, matt is too. well matt has lost 18 pounds now and i have lost 40 from the top of my pregnancy. i gained 66 in all, so 26 to go before i'm at my pre pregnancy weight, but 40 to go before i'm at my ideal. i'm so thankful that it's coming off, y'all!!

this weekend will be pretty uneventful until sunday when charlie, sam, merri, and allison come over for lunch to celebrate charlie's birthday which was tuesday and so we can celebrate fathers day with him. i'm excited to have them all here. :) i hope YOU have a great weekend!!
