this weekend we celebrated father's day! allison and i went to visit my dad during the week last week, because we knew this weekend was going to be too crazy to try and celebrate with four different dads (my dad, my step dad charlie, matt's dad jon, and matt). saturday we spent the day with my family and we had a lot of fun. we visited my sister at the restaurant where she works for lunch, and then we went to olive garden for dinner. it was lovely. my nephew reese is growing up so much and he was making us laugh most of the day. he is such a great baby and my sister has done such a good job with him, and that really eases some of my fears about becoming a mom. sunday we went to matt's parents' house for a DELICIOUS breakfast for lunch and watched some more home videos. at night we went to church and heard a very encouraging sermon (http://fm.thevillagechurch.net/sermons you can listen to all matt chandler's sermons here. the one from this past sunday isn't up yet, but it will be sometime this week.), went to dinner with some friends, and came home and played wii golf with half of those friends. it was a good weekend. :)
we also completed a little baby project...
sorry that the picture is diagonal; it was the best way to make sure it would all fit.
we also visited destination maternity this weekend, which is like two maternity stores in one (motherhood and the ever so expensive [but way cute] pea in the pod). i needed to buy a dress because my great friend amanda is getting married this coming weekend, our anniversary is coming up in july, and matt's brother justin is getting married sometime in september. shopping in this store was a pleasant experience for both of us, as i was waited on hand and foot by the sales lady and matt sat in the man section reading manly magazines and watching CNN.
i can't believe that june is almost over! we are really looking forward to some fun events in july. we love the fourth of july; we usually spend the day with one of our families, get a couple pints of ice cream and some plastic spoons, and park the car at night somewhere to enjoy our treats and watch my favorite, fireworks! this ice cream tradition started with my friend amanda, who i mentioned is getting married next weekend. also in july we are throwing a baby shower for our friends justin and jenny! aaaaaand we are going on a little weekend trip with matt's family, which we are really excited about. :) for our anniversary, on july 21st, we are going to see the beauty and the beast musical. (weeeeeee!!!! i loooove musicals and plays!) the summer is flying by, which means jonah will be here before we know it. it's crazy and scary, and i'm not in a rush, but i also know that God is so powerful and we can go to Him at any time now and once the baby comes. knowing that truth helps me to not be as freaked out.
have a fabulous week! <3
